Powered by hydrogen combustion modified gas turbine engines. Liquid hydrogen is used as fuel for combustion with oxygen.
Fuel cells create electrical power complementing the gas turbine, in a highly efficient hybrid-electric propulsion system as final result.

Airbus and CFM International, a 50/50 joint company between GE and Safran Aircraft Engines, to collaborate on a hydrogen demonstration project.
The demonstration will use a A380 equipped with liquid hydrogen tanks prepared at Airbus facilities in France and Germany.
The ZEROe demonstrator mission, is to bring zero-emission aviation to reality.
