San Jose, Costa Rica, aircraft break up in two parts

San Jose, Costa Rica/Aviation News/April 5, 2022 (www.avionicsea.com/)A DHL Boeing 757-200, with registration HP-2010DAE and flight number D0-7216 from San Jose, Costa Rica to Guatemala, was departing of San Jose's runway 07 when the crew level around 21,000 feet declares a hydraulic failure.


The aircraft entered a holding pattern while the crew worked the related checklists. The aircraft returned for an approach to runway 07. After touchdown the crew lost control of the aircraft and went off the runway causing the aircraft to break up into two parts near the tail section, both main gear struts collapsed.


The crew was able to exit the aircraft without serious injuries.
